I just find it amusing that this morning I made a post to my discourse tumblr that was just the word 'depressed' in big text and it has like 6 notes? why did 6 entire people feel the need to like this post lmao sdhfskjdfhkf. that said, I made this post on tumblr to save links from searches I was making from my phone but I'm too tired to transcribe them properly so have them in a half assed way.

7. not a link. I watched the first episode of the magicians today and I'm pretty hype to learn more about the characters!! if anyone wants to help me watch by rabbiting season one with me, that's most welcome.

8. I am...strongly considering getting back into making moodboards. I haven't been able to be very creative lately, for whatever reasons, and I've found that the best way to get back into doing things is to do things for other people. you can look over my aesthetic moodboards and decide if you want something similar, and then send me an ask here, because they'll be posted to tumblr (it doesn't have to be off anon). you can send me prompts like "summer with lesbian themes" or "cottage-y aesthetic but sad" or "pink and green" or any combination thereof, not limited to those seasons or colours or sexualities. I would love to make a board for you, even if it takes me a while, so please don't feel bad about asking. in fact, please ask.

If you like reading about feminism in India, I can probably send you some things from my transnational queer studies class (which had a large focus on India)!

Tangent about #5, CW for rape: Ignoring the conflation of pedophilia with child molestation (I understand the common usage definition, but I hate it because it makes it difficult to talk about how these things are not only distinct, but statistically unrelated), I would also like to add that the boundaries between "rape" and "not rape" are incredibly fuzzy, and that endorsing punitive justice against all "rapists" raises quite a lot of questions about a lot of different kinds of encounters, for example:

• sex somebody thought they were into at the time but later came to regret/have bad feelings about


• statutory rape


• the kind of rape where somebody lies about using a condom when they didn't... and then even further, what about when this kind of thing happens but it was a misunderstanding?


• things that would absolutely be rape if not for institutionally-approved contexts (a doctor inserting a catheter during a life-saving surgery you couldn't consent to as a result of being incapacitated... or a doctor doing "corrective" surgery on an intersex child)


• somebody raping somebody else but not realizing it was rape because they were never taught about the importance of consent/never realized certain kinds of behaviors constituted sex/sexual contact


• somebody who didn't want it but didn't communicate that


• somebody who didn't want it but later decided they feel non-negatively towards the experience


• mutual rape


• all the little things that get argued over in rape discourses, like kink, altered states/inebriation, sex work, duress, cultural rituals, personhood, etc

Because ultimately, what constitutes a sex act is socially constructed. The nature of consent is also socially constructed. The amount and styles of consent required to have sex are constantly debated--the boundaries between rape and simple sexual harassment/assault as well. And all these things contribute to the vagueness of what it means for somebody to be a rapist, and therefore what killing all rapists would look like.

I really like the point about how getting to rag on acceptably loathed targets is often a way to vent suppressed conservative attitudes without being called out. But also I think it goes beyond "these things will keep happening anyways because they are caused by Bad Social Structures" and is also a matter of "the way we understand these Crimes is not conceptually sound, and thus our fluid understanding of them will keep shifting to incorporate something existing so long as we accept the notion that an Absolute Bad always exists." So I think it's kind of interesting that despite coming to the same conclusion, me and the people in the post use different frameworks to get there.

2) YAAAAS AESTHETIC MOODBOARDS. Im. Addicted to Pintrest, and whenever I have a new fandom hyperfocus I just fucking make pintrest boards for all the characters... I have Aesthetic Boards on my main blog but most are relating to characters in Dead by Daylight. I need to expand my horizon but I like using characters as a base to work with.

I may send you some moodboard themes for funsies \o/
