hey! im alice and im new to dreamwidth. my main fandoms are: check please, voltron (currently on s1), dirk gently (s2), carry on, and marvel. i love kent parson, and cats. still figuring out dw. that's it, for now :)

im mostly hoping to post link and fic roundups, and if i can (that's a big if) links to every fanfiction i read and like this week. that'd be a lot of labour, but on the plus side i'd have a record of my reading tastes and habits. i can't shake the thought that it's a bit late to start now, since i've been reading fanfic for over a year and a half, but i comfort myself with the knowledge that most of the fandom people i talk to on a regular basis are above 25, so i'm not that far behind. here's hoping i can stick to it

• the scene at the bottom of the stairwell by hockeycaptains :: 22k :: "It should probably be an alarming trend that everyone keeps laughing at things that are Absolutely Not Jokes, but Tyler is too relieved to be anything but grateful for it." Tyler wakes up one day and finds himself compelled to tell the truth, and only the truth. Everything gets roughly a thousand times more complicated. additional comments: so sweet and so angsty
• things in nature can shatter by Mayhem10 :: 10k :: Jamie Benn wishes his soulmate was more original. Then he wishes his soulmate was Tyler Seguin. (In which boys are stupid and Sidney Crosby moonlights as the Sochi Therapist) additional comments: good, loved it. a++ for tyler's reactions.

He’s eating chips at staring at Tyler in fascination, like he’s some kind of zoo exhibit to which Jordie has suddenly become privy. “Seventeen Again, I think that was it.” “This blows,” Tyler complains. “And I’m nineteen, fuck you.” additional comments: amazing, i love it. i love how young tyler behaves, and the way things flow.
• Sink These Roots Deep by LadyJanelly :: 73k :: The trick to not getting broken, Tyler decides early on, in the first winter he's on his own, is to not care about anybody so much that they can break you. He manages to follow that rule, right up until he meets Jamie. =========== 2009: Jamie's rookie year. He's got his future laid out in front of him. He's still lost in so many ways. Letting a boy like Tyler into his life is the best bad-idea he's ever had. additional comments: beautiful and incredible. made me cry. will probably reread it about a thousand times.
• Romantic Motherfucking Best by lightgetsin :: 13k ::  Jamie's supposed to boyfriend this shit right up, and Tyler wants to see that. additional comments: jamie’s got gaaame.
