staranise very generously bought me a month's worth of paid dreamwidth, and I'm still !!!!! and still not sure what happens now. like, what does it do?? metatext
2. I was talking to my friend and it went like this
me: im huffy about romance culture again
them: pat pat
me: wanna hear about it
them: sure
me: i used to say i don't like fluff. but that's not true - i'd only been exposed to a specific kind of fluff, the kind based in schmoopy generically romantic gestures that read as empty to my aro ass. i do like fluff, when it's tailored to the kind of thing characters would actually say and do, when it's rooted in being loving and gentle to characters in the ways that would actually mean something to them instead of looking like someone's reading off a list of things that are romantic and fluffy
anyway. someone in another server just shared a bit of the fic theyre writing and it's gaggingly generic empty romantic gesture that everyone treats as emotionally significant despite no evidence to that conclusion
and im pissy about it
them: ur valid but also for people who are very romantic by nature. ALL romantic gestures are emotionally significant
I feel like they broke into my mind and threw open all the windows.
3. I'm still stressed about exams, but like. for different reasons.
4. for various reasons I'm thinking about that thing white people do where they like, casually talk over you. or when they restate your point a while later without acknowledging you. and I made a post about it.
5. thinking about making a resources page on tumblr and I have to think about it a lot more.
