ARGH.

I want to say, well, so many things. But the structure of dreamwidth doesn't allow me to chatter endlessly the way I can on tumblr. on tumblr, everybody's following a couple hundred people, so it doesn't matter so much when one person puts 6 text posts on your dash in a row. But Dreamwidth is slower, and more deliberate, and even though I don't feel a need to be ~articulate~ and ~intelligent~ I do feel a need to not annoy people by putting 4 posts on their reading page on the same day. It's just that when I sit down to write, I really do bang out a lot of thoughts, and I want to post all of them

[right now, for example, I want to make a post rounding up my thoughts on twilight, and a post about aromantic rep and community in fandom, and a post about my original characters. gahh
and I also want to talk about the fact that I have real skinny wrists?? the fuck]

Mostly I want Dreamwidth to have a queue feature, or a scheduled post feature, so that I can make a lot of posts and then set them to post once a day, and delay them as necessary if I say something else on that day. I feel like making 2 or 3 posts a day is too many for the current speed at which Dreamwidth moves.

But more than anything else I want to not annoy people. I'm not sure why I'm applying this standard to myself - it certainly doesn't annoy me when my friends put three of four posts on my reading page, I'm just excited and happy to read what they have to say, but I keep thinking I'm uniquely annoying, whether because I'm younger than the average DW user, especially the ones in my circle, or because I keysmash too much, or because I'm just annoying cause I'm me and there's nothing I can really do to change that apart from not being me anymore.

Can I just say that I would love it for you to post whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted! I don't really consider multiple posts to be spamming or annoying, just like 'woah :0 new stuff to read!' and I'm always excited to read new stuff. Post to your hearts desire! :)

Seconded!! I think it might even help Dreamwidth begin to move at a faster clip for more people.

There's a function that lets you set the timestamp of a post, and if you make it a future date/time, it won't post until then, so it's effectively like tumblr's "schedule post" system. (This might only be with the beta post editor, idk)

You could also look to using an external text editor, or even just tumblr drafts to save thoughts you don't want to publish yet. Right now I have a tumblr draft with my next linkspam in it.

I also feel the pressure not to flood the reading page too much... on the other hand, there's no set pace for dreamwidth. Just like there are some people on tumblr who only follow like 12 people, there are some native dreamwidthers who follow like 50 people and 30 communities. There's definitely no speaking for to what "frequency" others are going to see your posts.

Also if somebody really didn't want to deal with multiple posts in a row, they could just scroll past them, just like on tumblr when you see a repeat reblog or content from a fandom you don't care for. At the end of the day, there's not a lot of reason for anybody to get mad about another person posting too many entries in a row--after all, filters are also a thing.

Honestly, having more posts from you might break up the multiple posts in a row on my reading page that are from people I'm less acquainted with, who post about things which aren't relevant to me, haha. Your dreamwidth content is welcome and enjoyable and every contribution of yours adds to the pool of great dreamwidth content, not dilutes it.

I'm trying to get back into a pattern of regular activity here and I keep falling off, because what are brain, how do executive function. But I'm perfectly happy to see a few posts a day from you here! The Tumblr thing where it's 10+ a day from every blogger ever and they're mostly reblogs is exhausting, but there's a *lot* of latitude between current DW pace and that, and without instant reblog mechanisms it can't really get like that at all.
