you know how people write fic in their friend's DMs, or in discord servers? not!fic, or bullet point fic, or whatever you want to call it? I used to do that a lot and then I stopped because I started doing Actual Writing but I miss doing it! it was lower effort than Actual Fic and very very rewarding and I would love to get back into it, now only to find a friend who shares my fandoms and/or doesn't mind me talking about my OCs and a ton of messed up angst. in return I will be invested in your OCs. or really, if anyone has any suggestions as to how I could get back into this practice they would be highly appreciated.

My original universe is super flimsy and unimpressive because it's from middle school, and the characters aren't that fleshed out (all the stories were more circumstance-driven than character-driven) or like. Interesting at all. But you're welcome in my tumblr inbox. I've also seen plenty of really popular bullet point fic posts on tumblr regarding fandom headcanons or AU's, so picking fandom-related story premises and expanding on them in posts might be a way to get back into it.

yeah, the thing about bullet fic on tumblr is that it has a tendency to get reblogged and spread, and considering the nature of my characters I don't really want that to happen? I would rather be in someone's DMs, or have something like that twilight thread we did a few months back. also, bullet point fic on tumblr is one of those things that turns into a bad habit really fast and I don't know how to balance bullet point on tumblr with Actual Fic but I still..........want.........

To be fair, there's no rule or anything that you can't just post bullet fic onto ao3. But the bad habit bit is fair enough if you're looking to get into the habit of writing specifically longform stories.
