lesbians on tumblr have to go against their own interests to participate in the lesbian community on here at all. it’s so overrun by radical feminism that i’ll see brown desi lesbians being like “don’t call me queer” as though cutting themselves off from the indian queer community (with orgs like queer azaadi doing work) is in any way in their own interest...if u want to be a lesbian by radical feminist standards you can’t ally with anyone who is not a lesbian, including people with the same goals as you (trans, bi, ace women) or they’ll take away ur lesbian card and so many of them fall for it it’s not even funny. terfs want lesbians to be fascists in the same way that alt-righters want all white people to be fascists...they’re the people these fuckers “trust” with the power, wherein trust is only about this group being the one that serves their goal. it’s not like they care about lesbians or white people at all....you’ll never catch an alt-righter caring about poor whites, working class whites...you’ll never find a terf caring about disabled lesbians or lesbians of color. and yet if you want to find meaning and community in lesbianism you have to share community with terfs. and so many of them pick this path. i can’t say i don’t understand but i refuse to forgive them just because they don’t much of a choice. they're hurting literally everyone including themselves, but for every brown/disabled/otherwise marginalized lesbian who buys into terf rhetoric in order to "remain" a lesbian, there's a marginalized trans/bi/ace woman having a harder time because her community and support systems have been shattered by terfs.
